“I feel very privileged every day to be working with young people, helping them to achieve the goals they have set for themselves.  Teaching both Media Studies and English gives me a varied and constantly changing work environment that I find stimulating and rewarding.  From practical work like filmmaking to more ‘typical’ academic tasks like essay writing, I enjoy helping students build their skills step by step and guiding them to their final results.

Media is a great subject to teach as it allows both me and the students to express our creativity and to share our ideas with the other students in the school.  It’s great to see people working together well, when they are designing magazines or doing online journalism projects for example.  I have always been fascinated by language too and teaching English allows me to be a language geek whenever I want to be!

Outside work, I love music and try to get to gigs whenever I can.  I’m mainly into hip-hop and jazz and have recently seen acts like Jazzanova, Pete Rock, Ornette Coleman, and Talib Kweli here in London.  Apart from that, I love reading, writing and travelling, with Japan, Canada and Spain being my favourite destinations so far.  Australia and South Africa are next on the list!

Life at Bellerbys is good.  We have a lot of fun and get things done too.  ‘Work hard, play hard’ is my personal motto and I would say that most of us here at the school would share that!”
