Einige Bellerbys-Schüler des Abschlussjahrgangs 2010 kennen lernen
Panich Kasamepaiboon
Studied A Levels at Bellerbys Oxford
Grades achieved: A*AA
Secured a place at Warwick University to study Accounting & Finance
Panich has been a delightful student, very popular with his peers and teachers, and he has contributed a great deal to the life of the college. He is a highly accomplished badminton player (winning many competitions at home and in the UK) and started a very successful club. He has been at Bellerbys Oxford for over three years, having done the English Language Preparation course and his GCSEs with us – all with flying colours. We are extremely proud of his excellent A Level results, especially as he achieved these in only five terms.
Some words from Panich on receiving his A Level grades: “The 19th of August 2010 was the longest day of the year. While I was waiting for my results, I felt as if the time was ticking so slowly. I talked to my friends on the internet. They already knew they had confirmed places by tracking UCAS. I decided to do the same and saw my unconditional place at Warwick to study Accounting and Finance. I was so happy! I couldn’t believe my own eyes, so I asked my father to take a look. He said “Congratulations”. I was very pleased with my results and feel that all the hard work throughout this year was really worth it.
I would like to thank my teachers at Bellerbys College who were very friendly and provided good teaching in every subject. Most importantly, my family has always been such a great support for me - I wouldn’t have come this far without fantastic teachers and the family’s support.”
Panich knew from the start that he wanted to study Finance and Accounting. His Accounting teacher, Hassan Tlili, speaks of his passion for knowledge and ability to apply his understanding of accounting principles and procedures to both familiar and unfamiliar situations. “He has a critical mind and provides coherent, well reasoned explanations. He has natural ability coupled with superb study skills and is definitely suited to continuing with this subject at degree level.”
Mathematics teacher, Carol Yeung, adds that “Panich demonstrates an original approach and flair. He has an inquisitive mind, shows considerable initiative and learns new concepts with ease. He works with speed and accuracy, produces impeccable written work and sets himself high standards. He appears to enjoy all aspects of the course, especially trigonometry and calculus, and is always willing to share his ideas with the rest of the class.”
Panich showed the same commitment in Economics lessons and worked extremely hard to cover the syllabus in a reduced period. Teacher, Linda Webster, says ” He has always been receptive to new ideas and his written work reflects logical thinking combined with excellent evaluation skills. He is highly aware of real world macro economic events, reads widely and applies this knowledge intelligently in class activities. He asks thoughtful, intelligent questions and is receptive to advice.”
We all believe that Panich has a great deal to contribute to his future university, both academically and socially. His cheerful, enthusiastic presence will be sorely missed after three years at Bellerbys Oxford.
