Kieran Suchet, Head of English & Media Teacher

 

"I am the Head of English at Bellerbys College in the beautiful city of Oxford. I also teach Media Studies and I run the Drama Society as well!

I started teaching English in 1998. My first job was in the town of Bydgoszcz in Poland and I really enjoyed it. In fact, I remained in Central Europe for four years, teaching a wide variety of English to an even wider variety of students! I returned to the UK in 2001, teaching in London and eventually moving to Oxford in 2004.

I absolutely love the opportunities that come with teaching international students. Sharing knowledge about different languages, cultures and customs is really important to me and I feel fortunate to be able to experience this every day.

I live in Oxford with my wife and son and I am actually from a town called Henley-on-Thames, which is only 20 miles from Oxford, so the whole area is very familiar to me. In my spare time I enjoy watching films, gardening, having barbeque parties and playing the didgeridoo!

I also enjoy reading books on politics and science fiction, which is a rather odd mix, but I find it to be a good combination of serious and not so serious reading."
