During his time at Bellerbys Oxford, Romas achieved an outstanding academic record as well as taking a highly active part in many extra-curricular activities. He helped to run the Debating Club and founded the Basketball group. He has always been utterly focused and managed to balance his studies with all his other activities. He was a popular recipient of our Student of the Year award for 2010. Over the summer he has worked as an Activity Leader for our partner school Embassy and done a great job. He is always willing to help and has a smile for everyone.
His Politics teacher, Ian Walker, describes Romas as “a talented and very well informed student whose knowledge of politics and current affairs extends way beyond the A Level syllabus. He contributed so much to every class with intelligent and thoughtful comments on a range of political issues. He fully deserved his A grade as he worked hard throughout the two-year course.”
Head of Maths, Carol Yeung, says, “It has been a pleasure to teach such a charismatic and intelligent student. Romas has a very positive approach to Maths. He has an excellent knowledge of applicable techniques and is capable of careful, reasoned analysis. He presents his solutions clearly, with precision and effectiveness, and produces work of an very high standard.”
His Economics teacher, Linda Webster, has these words about Romas: “He has continued to be a very active and engaged member of the group this term and demonstrates a very strong level of understanding of many key concepts and theories. Romas is well read on the realities of the economic world and should go far in this subject.”
Hassan Tlili, his Accounting teacher, says “Romas has been an excellent student over the last two years. He has a natural aptitude for problem solving and numbers. He also knows how to work hard and he is constantly striving for perfection. He communicates very well, an important skill in this subject. I am very proud of his achievements in the classroom and contribution to the school.”
Programme Manager, Yasmin Hurrell, adds “Romas is a delightful young man, engaging and confident, a born leader. He fully deserves his Student of the Year award for his contribution to the life of the college. We wish him every success at university and will miss his positive and cheerful presence.”
On receiving his A Level grades Romas said, “I am extremely grateful to all the staff and teachers at Bellerbys Oxford. I have had two wonderful years, learnt and seen a lot and will always remember this time. I am really pleased with my results and looking forward to starting university.”
